Worse than my plight of course is that of the poor, who according to scientists are a bajillion times more likely than my peers to get all those nasty things associated with bad diet.
You can't blame the marketers for trying of course. Putting the label "organic" on products eases the guilt of the well-enough-off consumer, so we pay more. But of course not every food is a pesticide drenched apple, so here are some common produce you need NOT pay the extra $1.75 for:
