This really dawned on me when a friend was telling me about the ex-CEO of Tyco International getting caught embezzling funds and the effect it had on jobs at ADT Security in Rochester. A horrible thing yes, but it left me thinking "wow, I didn't know the politics of security companies could be so interesting!"
One area just crawling with juicy stories is New York's capital Albany. In her piece for CapitalNewYork.com Jessica Alaimo profiles the current struggles of Patricia Lynch, a leading lobbyist with a pit bull mentality. Ms. Lynch is having a slightly tougher time getting her way lately, as her partner in crime Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver has lost much of his influence. Seems ol' Shelly has paid the price for taking a page out of the Joe Paterno book on how to ignore sex crime accusations.
The Capital New York piece puts a human face, albeit perhaps not the friendliest one, on the kind of person that we don't normally hear about.
